Long morning of grumpy K and Katie not knowing where to go. Miscommunication = Shinjuku which is shit but the mornings conversation had been zombie by K so all agreed plans were null and void in reality.
So, a morning wandering shitty Shinjuku streets with a petulant child looking for food was not fun. Even searched for McD in the end but even though we’d seen loads couldn’t find one. Luckily we street fooded it and ended up standing in a bar with gyoza and octopus balls. Headed to Harajuku but couldn’t find it.
Didn’t really know what we were looking for but saw exclusive residential detached houses. Finally came across Harajuku street = Camden. Cheap shit and school children.
Happened to be across from Olympic stadium so took pics and tried to go to Yoyogi park but was shut due to ‘public emergency’?!
Got a long train back to Asakusa and went for street food bar only for ‘one drink’, but turns out Jap guy next to us was anglo friendly (unlike british fatties who followed us). Random beers turned up – turned out to be present from Jap neighbours so engage in convo, shared food and tried Japanese with Kimono company owner 😀
Made our excuses and found bar we’d seen before so went in cos of friendly dog sign – they bark because they’re nervous chickens? Turns out they’re amazing and staff super friendly.
Ex pat rocker turns up (Chris Whatley) who we chinwagged with all night.
Piano playing, cat abusing man chucked a cat at K who had painted claws and was called Bibi. We also went in Don Quixote – cheap jack department store – ‘bland goods’.
Bar was amazing – look up on facebook. Don Quixote had great tabis. Too much gin = bed.
Edit: forgot about coolmall marketplace where you could sit down and learn a craft at any table.
